Barent Jans Budde born around 1720?
my name is Eve and I am currently tracing my family history/tree (mainly through Ancestry.co.uk).
I have traced my Great Grandfather as Derk Anthony Budde who was born 23 January 1871 in Amsterdam. He moved to the UK and married an English girl, Minnie May Lyttelton. From his family, I have traced back to Barent Jans Budde born around 1720, who married Trintje Abrams Steve Laar. These members mostly seem to come from Oostzaadam, Netherland, Deventer, Overijssel, Netherlands and Zaandam, Netherland.
I see from your website that you welcome enquiries and additions to the Budde family history.
Please let me know if your research can show any family members back further than Barent Jans Budde born around 1720.I have a few facts about my Great Grandfather, Derk Anthony if you are interested.
Also if you would like a copy of my tree, showing the Budde line, do let me know.
Many thanks and I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Best wishes

Buddes in Netherlands/Germany
Hello Paul-
Thanks to your having become an unofficial internet coordinator for the Budde family. Since I came across your site on Internet I have come one step further into the research for my own branch of the Dutch Buddes, and in the process also had the fun of getting into contact with an actual family member Hans Budde, (a descendant of one of my grandfather’s uncles), who is also involved in family research. We are now planning a little get together also with my half-brother Karel Budde, in order to exchange information.
Together we are now putting some of the pieces together a bit further. I will keep you posted of any major new findings.
To any other US Buddes of Dutch origin: Will any descendants of the following brothers of my grandfather please step forward:
Johan Paul Budde, born Amsterdam , Holland Aug 18, 1902, arrived on SS Noordam on Ellis Island November 11, 1920, died Oroville, Butte California May 1974 ;
Willem Johan Paul, born Amsterdam juli 1895, said to have gone to the US before 1920.
To any other German origin Buddes from the Kleve (Westphalia, Germany) area
Does anyone of you have any information about my German ancestor Ferdinand Budde or any other Buddes coming from the town he was born in. His birth was registered in Mariënborg (a suburb of Kleve) in 1826 (or 1829), as son of Clemens (or Heinrich) Budde and Wilhelmina Kliever. Some other records show him to be the son of Wilhelmina Budde, father unknown.
Pending my actually going to Duesseldorf Germany to look at church registers, (I live in Brussels Belgium), any information you could give would be helpful.

Budde Amsterdam – Cleve
Dear Paul,
I stumbled across your web site of your search into the budde past. Although I have merely started digging into this, I could give you following information.
I come from a Dutch branch of the Budde family. My great etc. grandfather Carl Budde emigrated to Amsterdam from Kleef (Germany) in 1829, where he eventually married another German girl named Cornelia Mann (from the Mann-Bouwmeester theatrical family). His direct descendants now alive in Holland are few, Remaining Buddes of this branch include my half brother Karel (64) and his two sons Karel and John (40 and 36), myself (50) and my son Daniel (13,5) One particularity of this branch was that all the eldes tsons had as first name Carl, or from the 3rd generation on Karel
In addition I assume there are descendants of 3 brothers of my grandfather. They were all sailors In the period before WWII and jumped ship, at least one of them in the U.S. (Hendrik ) ; the other two we do not know where, but we assume in the US as well (It seems one of them was called Hanny). My grandfather never heard of them any more.
I know there seems to be a link between the northern German Buddes and some Scandinavian ancestry, which seems to go quite a while back. There has also been a Swedish general Budde who fought for the Russian Tsars in the 18th or 19th century, got awarded a baronet title, and is now included in archives of Russian nobility.
In Holland there also exists a coat of arms for the Budde family : 3 stars on a blue font, which I have, but again I do not know how old it is or where it comes from.If you are interested I can try and fax it to you eventually.
This all seems to be a bit haphazard information, but maybe you can do something with it. I have come across very few Dutch Budde ‘s so there’s a little more interest. I would really like to know where this very widespread family originally comes from.
Best regards, Elisabeth Budde
Mathias Budde – Geneva Switzerland
Hi Paul
My name is Mathias Budde, I am 37, living near Geneva, in the
french-speaking part of Switzerland. The name Budde is pretty rare in
Switzerland, being clearly of German origin, and even over there not as
widely spread as Müller or Schumacher… I was a bit surprised to find your
page about a Budde family tree. My parents moved from Germany to Switzerland
in the early 1950’s.
I will print your webpage and ask my father if there are some names he
knows. We happen to have a kind of a family tree, leading back to a Budde
from Marburg (there are at least 2 Marburg in Germany, I believe the one I
mean is Marburg an der Lahn).
I can remember a famous theologist called Karl Budde, who was I guess my
father’s grand-uncle. As soon as I get some information, I will get back to
you.
The email address is mbudde@franck.ch.
Best regards, maybe cousin…
Mathias

United Kingdom
John Budde lives in Northern Ireland, he emailed me a press article about his son Tony who moved to Scotland in 1992 and is a successful chef in Kincardine. He has two sons, so that is an other branch of the “Budde” family starting to grow in Scotland.
There is also a Budde descendent from my branch living in Scotland (near Inverness), Marijke van der Werf a grand daughter of a brother of my grandfather.
Fabiola Budde – Honduras
My grandfather’s father Frederick Von Budde arrived from Cologne, to Honduras, Central American , before WWI, somewhere between 1905-1909 . He lived on the north coast, in San Pedro Sula city, here he married with Juanita, an indigenous woman and they had 4 boys and 2 girls.
My grandpa was Frederico Budde he was born in 1914 in San Padro Sula City and died in 2000. I called him “Don Papi”, he was a civil engineer and he loved the field work.
